I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Art and Art Education at Morehead State University and Berea College. I served in the US Air Force for four years on a C-47 aircraft mainly transporting supplies, equipment, personnel, and diplomatic mail to US Embassies throughout Europe, North Africa, and Western Asia.
These trips almost always remained at the destination city into the next day giving this artist an opportunity to see ancient and contemporary arts in many nations.
My artistic style is principally realistic/idealistic. My subjects in painting include portraiture, landscape, still life, illustration, and particularly rustic folk genre (meaning a rustic, rural, nostalgic theme, people doing what people do).
My 2D media are acrylics, oils, oil pastels, pen and ink, and pencil. My favorite medium for sculpture is a durable one that I developed myself, which I call “paperstone”, a medium that looks astonishingly like cast bronze. I offer finished works and also available for commission work in large mansion style portraits or any other subject for painting and sculpture.
