I am not the same person I was four years ago
I was a single mother, 25 years old. I left high school in the 10th grade. I never had a paying job, I never had a mutual, loving relationship with any man. I had no confidence in myself, no hope, no future. I didn’t even have a home.
I came back to my parents place in Sandy Hook, ashamed, embarrassed, hopeless, and forced to go on welfare to support my daughter and try to pick up the pieces of my shattered life.
Now I am a Sarah’s Place “success story”
So far, I have…
• Gotten my GED
• Finished three semesters of college
• Learned to love myself again
